Tudor. What happened to is in the USA?

I just saw some pics of a Tudor from Basel. They have some nice watches. When i was in Hong Kong you would have thought they were Casios. They were everywhere. Why are they not so big in the USA? Are they big in Europe?

They are very popular in a lot of places other than the USA. The Tudor Hydronaut is an attractive watch that I favor over the ubiquitous Rolex sub. I suspect that Rolex is protecting the Rolex brand from in-house competition in the USA. That decision may be a result of pressure from dealers and a desire to not cause brand confusion in the minds of USA consumers. You might ask this question on the Rolex forum as well.

Were they ever sold in the US?

    Interesting Brand, Tudor.
Like a Poor Mans Rolex, meaning it in a nice way.

Yes. They discontinued US sales in, I believe, 2004.

Tudor was a very popular brand in Swden in the 1970-80ies.
It was said "Rolex tech at a discounted price".
Of course, the ETA movements do help bring the cost down.
