    Unitas 173 movement

    Hello Everyone!

I bought this old Unitas watch, but unfortunately the movement is totally destroyed by the rust and some parts are broken so I have to buy a "new movement. Can you help me where to look for? The movement is Unitas 173 . Thank you very much!Name: $_57.JPG

Nonsense. You just need a hungry watchmaker and a fat wallet.

That is going to be an expensive project. Might want to consider just getting a vintage watch in working condition.

A Unitas 173 will be hard to find in good/working condition. Restoration will burn a hole into your pockets. Good luck anyway.
    Kind regards

The great thing about this project is that 100% of the commonly required parts are available for this caliber. (BALANCE COMPLETE 29.40, BARREL 18.40, BARREL ARBOR 11.30, CANNON PINION HT 14.60, CENTER WHEEL 9.60, CLICK 8.10, CLICKSPRING 7.70, CLUTCH LEVER 10.20, CLUTCH WHEEL 14.90, CROWN WHEEL 9.60, CROWN WHEEL RING 7.70, FOURTH WHEEL W/SECOND 10.80, HOUR WHEEL HT 1.60 10.20, JEWEL, LOWER BALANCE CAP 11.40, JEWEL UPPER BALANCE CAP 11.40, MAINSPRING 10.95, MINUTE WHEEL 7.70, PALLET ARBOR 8.10, PALLET FORK & ARBOR 30.30, RATCHET WHEEL 14.30, REGULATOR, BREGUET 10.50, ROLLER 14.60, SET BRIDGE 8.40, SET LEVER 6.60, SET SPRING 6.60, SET WHEEL 12.80, STAFF 6.00, STEM 3.95, THIRD WHEEL 8.70, WINDING PINION 10.10)

I recommend a sympathetic restoration for this piece. The ratchet wheel, crown wheel, click and regulator will polish up nicely on the tin (or zinc) block. The screws are in relatively good condition and are likely salvageable (I might heat blue these when I was through polishing). Frankly, this doesn't appear particularly challenging at all.

Thank you! I'm a novice in this topic so I don't know how or where to purchase this parts. Could you help me with some information?

Sure, Knoob. Here's some information: You don't need to know - your watchmaker should already know.
