She has returned to me... perfect in every way. As I said below Montblanc did the repair completely free of charge, AND included a 12 month extended warranty on top. They definitely stepped up and did the right thing and did it quickly... I mean 2 and a half week turn-around is pretty dang impressive in my book.
Meanwhile I also spoke to Jomashop today, who were thrilled to hear things came to a successful completion. We had a long talk, where they asked for more feedback about my experience. They feel (correctly I think) that they screwed things up by being so militant in expressing their return policy, rather than treating me as a customer who needed help, and effectively scared me away from letting them handle the servicing. They actually brought the guy who I was so unhappy with into the conversation, and went over how they were looking to make sure this kind of thing NEVER happens again. The guy was also honest enough with me to tell me he was relieved that Montblanc stepped up, because he and his staff had already figured they were going to have to shell out a decent sum for the repair.
I couldn't be happier with either Jomashop or Montblanc... highly recommend both.
So without further ado... here's some pics of my baby. I've never used the term "grail" well here... but this watch... wow... just yum yum yum. I mean everything from the way it fits on the wrist... the precision feel of the mechanicals... the way the dial looks in different lighting... the function of the complications... JUST WOW. This is without question(in my opinion) the finest timepiece I've handled... and it's MINE.

I just heard from Montblanc today, and it looks like EVERYONE has stepped up in every way possible. Montblanc is repairing the watch for no charge. They estimate I will have it back within 2 weeks.
I'm now impressed and happy with both Montblanc and Jomashop, and am looking forward to having my watch back on my wrist in full working order soon.
*Big sigh of relief*
