Upgrading a Nomos to Rolex DJ or OP

Iíve been thinking of upgrading my Nomos Tangente Gangreserve (35mm) to a white 36mm Datejust. So I paid a visit to an AD and tried the DJ on and was a bit taken aback by how seemingly small it looked on my wrist despite the extra 1mm. Perhaps it was the lug length? Anyway, see pics below for reference.

    Nomos (wrist size 6.75Ē)

    DJ36 (same wrist size ;) )

What do you guys think? Too small or just right?

They didnít have any 39mm in stock, unfortunately.

Or should I just wait for the new OP 39mm (see below)?

    Thanks!

Looks good to me. Though that nagging doubt is a pain in the ass, so maybe wait till you try on the 39mm first before you make the final decision.
I think it just looks smaller because the OP has a thicker case and smaller dial compared to your Nomos, so it's like an optical illusion. I've noticed myself when switching from a dress watch to a diver.

That looks fine. I don't think a bigger size will work as well for you.

Funny. In that picture, Iíd say the DJ has much, much more wrist presence. Looks good to me.

The DJ looks perfect ... you were made for each other. Go for it!

    I think it looks good.

Those Nomos watches wear very big for their size because of their tiny bezel. For reference this 42mm Breitling SuperOcean I am wearing today has a 30mm dial. I have a 6.5" wrist. I would guess that your Nomos has a 31mm dial or larger.

I think you could likely wear the larger size but the 36 looks nice on you!

I agree with what others here have said. The DJ36 looks good on you, but if you're unsure, wait for availability of the 39. Either way, nice freaking watch!

Itís the dial. Most under appreciated measurements when it comes to fit. That and L2L.

Thanks for the feedback and advice, everyone! Much appreciated.

Not to add another factor into the equation, but if thereís one thing that makes me think twice about the DJ (and most of the Rolex lineup), itís that date window that keeps staring back at me. Not a deal breaker though, but Iíve learned that patience can be a useful virtue in this game so I think I will wait for the no-date OP36 or 39 before I make a decision.

Have a good weekend or whatís left of it. *thumbs up*
