    USPS custom fees

I purchased a swiss made watch from Europe online and now the tracking history shows it is being processed by ISC new york (USPS) since last Friday. I am located in USA. The watch is a pre-owned watch cost around 4k usd. I am wondering if they need me to pay custom fees, how can I contact them to pay it?

Does anyone has similar experiences before? Thanks!

Also,I just realized the watch has a crocodile leather strap too... which might cause issues.

Let me know if you have bought croc leather watches from outside of US before?! Thanks!

You don’t have to pay any kind of customs fees in the US

Thanks for your reply! I found this old thread here at WUS.

I tried to look up the custom duty rates from online but couldn't find anything useful and up to date.

The watch I bought valued around 4k usd and I have not received any updates from usps since last Friday after it is inbound to customs.

There may be fees on items over $800 - but it'll depend on how diligent the customs officers are at assessing those fees. And delays in customs aren't uncommon.

It takes a little time for packages to make it through customs even when there are no issues to hold things up. My Christopher Ward was shipped from Europe and spent a couple of days at the NY Customs office.

Also, yesterday (2/19) was a federal holiday. Fairly certain the USPS and Customs office were both closed, so that would have further delayed any processing.

Thanks for letting me know! I am also a bit concerned about the croc leather strap on the watch after read the thread here at WUS. https://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/warn...nd-711577.html I am fairly new on buying watches from outside of US and obviously missed this potential issue before buying.

I agree with this^^. It can take some time, especially during a federal holiday. I’ve waited over a week for items to make it through customs. Hopefully won’t have any issues with the croc strap!
