    Vacations and Watches

    Hello all,

Recently my wife and I enjoyed a trip to Hawaii for our anniversary. I brought along a pair of watches that I believed were well-suited to the kinds of things I'd be doing on the trip.

I brought the Omega Speedmaster Racing for swimming/hiking/sun bathing as it has a nice and comfortable rubber strap and it is a fairly rugged design. While it is not for diving, it's 100M water resistance makes it suitable for taking a dip in the pool to cool off.

The second watch I brought was my Cartier Pasha Chronograph as it could be dressed up for nice dinners with my wife.

So, I invite anyone that has just been on a vacation, is currently on vacation or has one coming up to share what watches they plan to bring and what kind of occasion they will be wearing each piece for. Hopefully we are a bunch that travels enough to keep this thread going for a while. Also, pictures welcome!

I rarely bring too much watches for vacation as the customs in my country is a pain to deal with...

On my trip to Europe on spring,I took these:

I take along my HMT. The more expensive ones enjoy a stay in the bank safe deposit box.

Seems like people aren't as interested in bringing their nicer watches on vacations as I thought! I've always been O.K. with the safes in hotel rooms and if I'm going anywhere where a mugging is a potential, I'll just wear the timex. Interesting perspective.

I have found that some people just like to hear themselves typing.

Friends don't let friends buy G-Schlocks.

You think I'm condescending...?? Do you even know what that means... ??

    Re: Vacations and Watches

These are my vacation watches and I only ever bring one. I've purchased watches while on vacation, but aside from once, they have been "affordables".

I had two stolen from my bag on a supposedly "safe" island years ago and the bellman denied everything and the hotel didn't want to hear it. I learned my lesson, keep your bags with you at all times and one watch on your wrist unless it's on the night stand beside you.
