Val 7750 minute totalizer sticks at 10 minutes

    Hi,

I have a Steinhart Nav B II chrono with a 7750 movement with a recurring issue. When I run the chrono, the minutes counter gets stuck at 10 minutes. normally the seconds and hours continue to count up, but today the whole watch stopped when it hit 10 minutes, then restarted after a slight tap. The watch is under warranty, but I am in Australia, and shipping back to Germany won't be cheap. Is this a known or easily fixed issue with the 7750, or should I be expecting an expensive fix? If it's a simple fix, I'll just take it to my watchmaker. I should note that the minutes also don't reset prefectly aligned, but sit just to the left of zero when reset. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

You gotta face facts..Send it back or take it local...Either way, you pay.
I've owned three 7750's...never a problem of any kind, so something is wrong.

Not a known issue with the 7750.

I would write to Steinhart asking for permission to take your watch to a local watchmaker without voiding the warranty.

I currently have more than 20 chrono's powered by a 7750 (4 are Steinhart's) and never had a similar issue.

Whatever the issue might be I would ask Steinhart for a replacement, pending on the date of purchase.

    Hello sir,
I am curious if you were ever able to resolve this problem. Were you able to determine what exactly was causing the problem? I ask because my own watch with 7750 movement is experiencing the exact same problem (but it sticks at 11 minutes each time).
Please do let me know, thank you

The problem was a broken chronograph register hand (loose) and the fix was simply to remove the loose hand and replace it with a new one. Now it works flawlessly.
