Ventura watches - why no love?

I'm new to watches and I'm looking for answers as to why Ventura watches aren't more coveted. I see these come up from time to time but they're usually a hard sell for the eBayer. I once had the smaller version of this watch that I bought after meeting someone who had one and thinking it was the ..... I'd love to get the larger version. However, I'm now more interested in watches that 1. I love 2. Have potential to increase in value so I can keep selling and upgrading. This one ticks the first box, anyway..

I know people will say just get what you love and don't worry about it but that means I would be buying watches all day long starting with just about every Jaeger Lecoultre ever made!

Are Ventura watches not investment quality? Why are the hard to sell with relatively low prices? Thoughts?

They were popular years ago. I didn't even know that they still existed.

Last I heard, they went belly-up about 13 years ago. Their pricing was out of line at the time, they did have some very nice designs, their 'SPARC and v-tec' watches
    were very advanced.

First saw them, they were being sold by Ashford in 2000.

Would it be fair to say that Ventura is now focusing on their kickstarter Bólido line, and the Ventura line has become something for 'Collectors and Connoisseurs', such as your VM 18 L, while production capabilities and quantities last.

Taste is in the eye of the beholder but to my eyes:
Hour & minute hand are too short
    Dial design is not balanced
Bezel appears purposeless, no timing marks
Triangle is awkwardly placed at bezel’s edge
It doesn’t surprise me that there’s not much interest. Just being honest.

I like them but not for the price they were selling for. I have a Braun Prestige Digital which uses one the Ventura modules. Braun has them like 50% off...$260 on their website...that price makes a lot more sense. I realize the Ventura watches were a touch nicer.

Quirky designs to the point of being gimmicky? Loads of watches offering more for less?

Their Caliber 99 was a little uncommon for its time.

I like them but not enough to buy one. One I really liked is their digital. As an investment, forget about it, sorry. One company I love the looks of was Alain Silberstein and was surprised they recently went out of business.

I like the Ventura watches when I was in my watch "infancy" as I realized there was nothing special about the watches, I lost interest in them about the same time everyone else did and they became kaput.
