    Cheeky remark ,

    But seriously mike,

Could a top watchmaker not make an unrecognizable copy from the Chinese version of the venus 175?
Bring the specs up to date, bring the amount of jewels down to 17, and make beautiful decorations?
Or is the Chinese version just to crude and different?
It ticks rather well in my Plasmir Milgraph. (admittedly when wearing it.)

    Cheers,

    Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!

An "unrecognizable copy from the Chinese version of the venus 175" would be a copy of what ????? I´d prefer an unrecognizable copy of an old Venus 175"
And yes, indeed the Chinese version is just to crude and different. Compare the acuracy of the Maurice Lacroix (with screw balance and swan neck fine adjustment) an a Seagull movement. I´d say the difference is obvious despite your´s is ticking well. Ever been with your watch on a Witschi ?
Ever measured the balance wheel amplitude at your watchmaker´s shop ?
My Seagull chronos both had had "bad" but expected results. They indeed tick different to a 3000 Euro timepiece.

Yep Mike, have done that on Gerard's machine in The Hague, and indeed behaviour as expected, all over the place in the different positions.
Luckily when wearing the piece it does an average of about 12 seconds a day.
    I can live with that.
Perhaps a good watchmaker could regulate and lube the movement? Or why bother, considering the price.

    Cheers,

    Daddel.

hey guys .. it *was* a joke ..

I do have an ST19 watch, and it does work surprisingly well, except
for a glitch that it sometimes resets a bit to the left of the zero mark,
and trips the minute counter over one notch when restarting .. not always .. which I would say indicates a generous margin of error in the
    machining of the movement.

    ;)

(are ML actually using antique Venus movements? or manufacturing new ones?)
