Very Expensive Watches Identified in a Movie

I watched L'immortel few years ago, I saw some watches in the movie but didn't give much thought. Recently I watched the movie again and noticed some pretty expensive watches. Note, the movie has quite a lot of violence, and based on true mafia war history back in 1970-80s in Marseille, France. So I would NOT recommend watching it, unless you have the stomach for this kind of stuff and obviously not in front of children. Here I am just talking about the watches.

In one scene, one of the mafia henchmen gave another henchman a watch as a gift. The watch face is so complex and hardly like a regular watch. Here's the shopping bag. Arije is a luxury store for jewelry and watches in France.

I didn't recognize the watch, so I went to Arjie's website and looked through all the brands they sell. Through process of elimination, it ended up to be a Guy Ellia Jumbo Chrono. It's a brand I never heard of before, and it's pretty weird looking watch. Here's an article about the brand Guy Ellia, does it ring a bell?

    Here's the box more clearly.

Anyway this watch is more than €20.000 Euro!

Another watch in this movie is very obviously a Jaquet Droz. Most possibly it's a Geneva Grande Seconde.

This watch in the movie is owned by the Mafia boss. It is more than €15.000. A little cheaper than the one above. Now the question is how can the henchman be having a watch more expensive than the boss?

The iron man movies have a good selection of watches from Hublot, Bulgari, and JLC to name a few. But the one that stands out is the Urwerk RDJ wore in Spider man homecoming.

I worked in another branch of organized crime, the US healthcare industry, for a few years. While there I would wear nicer watches than the doctors.

Watched Non-Stop movie yesterday with Liam Neeson, the pilot of a passenger plane was wearing Patek Philippe.
Curious, do pilots make a lot of money?

    Healthcare industry an organized crime?

Most these movie watches are product placements, not necessary representing real life. Although for mafia bosses, it's not unusual for them to have expensive watches. All that money needs to go somewhere.

Here's "Tany" the real criminal the Jaquet Droz wearing mafia boss character in the movie was referring to, during his arrest in 1984 (he killed himself soon after). That watch on his wrist, I don't know what it is, but I don't think it's something cheap. May be someone can identify it for historical and horological reason?

Here are some examples of watches worn by some of the most notorious criminals. https://watchandbullion.com/gangster_watches/ Here's a video about the same topic from our dear friend Mr. Urban Gentry.

Seems like every new movie from Atomic Blonde to Deadpool 2 is featuring Carl Bucherer.
