    VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY

What does everyone think of Victorinox?, I know they are entry level watches but I think their designs are great.
Or am I way of mark and need a watch intervention

I think they are every bit as good as any <$1k watch that you can buy. I like my DM500 almost as much as my Oris and Omega and it was at least half the price. Although I think the Alpnach watches are fantastic looking, I think they are WAY too much money. For that kind of money (~$2K USD MSRP), my money would go towards a Doxa or another Oris.
Have: Alpina Startimer Classic; Casio G-Shock GDF100/Altithermo; Citizen Navihawk A-T; Hamilton Jazzmaster Maestro; Heuer Monza; Luminox Colormark & 3000 series; Omega SMPq; Oris Diver Small Second hand date; Rolex ExpII(w) ;Seiko Prospex GMT SUN023P1; Tissot PRC-200; Victorinox Dive Master 500
Want: Someting dressy; Doxa Sub series

So under 1000 good, over 1000 money better spent elsewhere?

They are pretty good at a certain price point....Then you move to different brands and quality.

In the currency of USD, yes, I think that's a decent rule of thumb to go by.

I'm not sure I would spend more than 500 USD for a Victorinox personally. But they are good watches. Just nothing special.

On a side note, is there a reminder for someone to start a Victorinox opinion thread every couple of weeks?

I had the 4th one from the left in the OP (Victorinox Officer's Mechanical). Beautiful modern watch with classic design. Blued hands, sapphire caseback. $400 in the greay market. I had to let it go for watches with much more horological significant. If my watch box had unlimited space, I would keep it.

In my own little analysis, this is how I would go:

    under $300 - Seiko
    $301-$700 - Victorinox
    $701-$1000 - Longines or Oris

They are every bit as reliable and robust as any Longines, Oris, or any other non-premium brand.

I think they make some solid watches and seem to be priced right.

Love them... You can get great deals on them on the gray market, and give you great value that way.

I have two Alpnachs and an Infantry Vintage Chrono, and all of them are very nice.
