    Vintage Roamer Rockshell

Hello, can someone please help or offer any explanation for the following? I'm a brand new member. So, my dad recently gave me the watch that started my love of watches, his Roamer Rockshell mark iv. I wanted to find out more about them and found images of different looking Rockshells but still 'mark iv'. Then I found an image of what appears to be the same watch, but called a mark vi. It has me confused! Please see the two images attached. My watch is the first one. Any info greatly appreciated. Thank you

No, not yet. This is only recent and I thought I'd look on line first. I came across this site and thought I'd ask. But you're right, I will get around to asking Roamer directly. Thanks for reading

    Re: Vintage Roamer Rockshell

    Hi,
I think the difference may possibly be the movements in the watches rather than the watch cases or dial designs.
The early Rockshells mostly had Roamer`s in-house MST calibres.
From around the mid 1970`s Roamer used some bought in ETA calibres I think as they were under financial pressure and stopped production of their own calibres.
Checking the model numbers on the case backs should help with clues.
The first three digits will be the caliber number, next four digits the case material and the final 3 digits the case design style.

The vintage Roamer website has plenty of info on the in house and other movements (often assigning a new MST number to them ) that Roamer used

Thank you for that. I note one of yours has a similar number to mine. Mine is 482 5120 614. So that would indicate that the movement and case material are the same but obviously the styles are different.
