    Vintage Timex watches

    Hello all,

I have been strolling through eBay and I've seen that many vintage Timex watches are on sale for only tens of pounds. Do they go up in value and should I get one?

They might double in value over the next 50 years. So you now have a watch worth $100 by 2067. What will $100 buy in 2067? Not enough to be worth storing a cheap watch for 50 years.

Buy a nice dinner out instead.

I got my first Timex when I was in school in the 1960s. They never claimed to be anything but an affordable timekeeper. I saved money from mowing lawns across the summer and bought one with money left over. Having had one, I wouldn't give you anything even for the exact model I bought in 1964.

Get one if you like them not because they'll appreciate in value.

Yep, I remember when they were $9.95, had to be better than Westclox.
