    Vogard watch quality, reliabilty?

Does anyone know the durability, quality of Vogard watch? It looks very impressive and cool.

No clue and to be honest not interested for 5400 Euro.

I´d go for a Rolex GMT instead.

for less than 5300€, you can have a way better watch a rolex gmt ref 1675 or ref 16750 with a far better movement and better quality. Vogard is an unknown brand and too expensive for its worth.

I met the owner/designer at a watch show in Princeton NJ early last month, and was very interesting. I think one has to handle the watch to see how useful it could be. Of course it would be ideal for the person who needs to check other timezones frequently and travels often.

I believe Vogard produces less than 500 pieces per year, and is not interested in getting much larger than that. And yes, they are quite expensive, but Vogard is looking to occupy a certain niche, and not break into the market as a large producer of watches.

Vogard also told me that they produce only 500 pieces. Is it a genuine Swiss watch brand? I can save money to get it. Rolex doesn't have its feature. Vogard makes world time watch with day light saving time rather than just GMT watch. Vogard owner told me that they make their own movements too.

Very interesting, only 500 watches a year and movements of their own. Very interesting. The development of a movement needs about app. 1 Million Swiss Francs. How many watches must have been sold then ?

The information I have is that the "Personal Edition" and gold watches are equipped with a STT movements (STT= Swiss Time Technology - former "Progress"). The steel watch shown in this thread is powered by an ETA 2892-A2. Btw This is to be read in their press articles on www.vogard.com-The News.

From what I remember, they altered the ETA movements to make the bezel design work. I was never told that they made their own movements.

They certainly have a nice website but if I was going to spend that much money on a watch, it wouldn't be that one.

i like the dial and bezel on the bogus golfer model
but at that kind of money, i'd make sure i REALLY liked that watch

can't imagine being able to get much of your money back out of it if you decided to sell

A great concept, brilliantly executed; but at that price...

Maybe I'll wait for the Chinese version :-D

Of course for a very modest outlay you can get an Orient GMT with a 24-hour inner bezel connected to the movement, matched to a world cities outer bezel.
