    Wanting a new strap. Suggestions

So I love this watch, but I dislike the bracelet that its on. I had a Red/White/Blue nato, but that didn't really look great on my wrist. The lug width on this piece is 18mm, and I've been thinking of a notched leather strap. I don't know much about where to look for straps though. Any help/suggestions would be great.

    Have you googled "watch straps"?

    "Custom watch straps"?

    "18mm watchstraps"?

a dark brown or black leather with red stitching would look nice on that watch.

I have only the most general of advice to offer. Don't buy a cheapo one. I've got several so so straps and one good one. Talk about chalk and cheese.

This. Also, a rubber strap would be perfect for yours.

I think your best bet is to find a custom watch strap seller and ask them to make you a notched leather strap.

I did that twice for a Vostok Amphibian with an 18mm lug width. The first one (from Vietnam) was okay, but not quite right.

The second one (from Belarus) was made from a Russian ammo bag. Very cool, except, though the seller forgot to notch the strap for me--my handiwork worked, but wasn't exactly even...

Another option is cork. I got this custom made from a watch museum in Portugal, where most cork comes from:

Another option is a leather NATO. It gives a bit more presence, but is still affordable. Check out Natostrapco.com or Cheapestnatostraps.com.

Otherwise, look to Crown & Buckle, or look for RIOS, Hirsch, Hadley-Roma...
(Many of these, of course, will cost you more than the value of the Amphibian.)
