    Watch Auction - Toronto

Was watching the local morning news and they had a guest on promoting Ritchies Auctions watch sale. More info can be found here for anyone interested: RITCHIES – Auction Catalogue

Play it right and you could find yourself wearing a fine time piece.

PS. I am in no way affiliated with this auction house. Just passing on some information.

    Re: Watch Auction - Toronto

I have an absentee bidders account and know of 3 watches in that list I'm prepared to bid on - but the estimations are all over the map and some starting bids will be interesting to note. I've participated in many asset auctions, sometimes a winner, sometimes a spectator, but the usualy buyers premium is 15%. This auction will be 20%, and very much needs to be taken into consideration.
    Influence is like the wind...

Yes it will be interesting to see how much that PP Astronomical (price) watch will go for? It was estimated at $300k in the paper. That fellow that they interviewed, John Green mentioned that he reads alot of watch forums, wonder if he's a WUS?

    Re: Watch Auction - Toronto

I read in the paper today that it sold for $215K but the original list price was $324K, so I guess the seller was quite disappointed. The buyer apparently will be selling it in Asia and I wouldn't be surprised if he can flip it for a nice tidy profit. Toronto is such a small potato market compared to where the real money is.
