    Watch for a hospital stay

I'm due back into hospital for a stem cell transplant next month and I can't decide which watch to bring with me.

In the past I've brought my Rado which is very slim and small but I got bored with it after a while. I've also worn the Tissot T-touch expert solar and it is too big and liable to get snagged on the wires going up my arm. I had to take it off - same with my Tag Heuer Monaco. I have also got a simple Bulova precisionist but I don't really like it and have never worn it out of the house. My other Tag - the Carrera is with Tag for repair and I won't be getting it back for 6 weeks or so.

That only really leaves the 2 Casios. Both are G-Shocks but only one is solar and radio controlled. I just can't decide.

Assuming you're asking a serious question, rather than speed-posting to the finish line...
...having spent a LOT of time in various hospitals over the years, I have seen a few stolen from other patients (and rarely are they allowed to be worn in most situations)--I would bring one of your G-shocks--who cares if it is hooked up to Atomic time--you aren't going anywhere, and time itself is rather relative, while in a hospital--I would seek other ways to cure my boredom than simply looking at my watch.

All very good advice. I'll have my iPad for entertainment but I like to wear a watch all the time, even in bed. I need something practical so I think I will wear my recent G-shock purchase. Theft is rare in the hospital but I'm not going to wear my Monaco again as it cost 40 times more than the Casio, although the hospital has a safe there's no need to bring it.

I agree with the G-Shock suggestion.

Good watch and easy to replace if needed.

    Good luck.

Don’t know where you are but if your hospitals are anything like ours theft is a problem so much as I hate exposing it to the risk I’d take a G.

Aristo 4H124. It has scales on it where you start counting your pulse at 12 or 6. When you've counted 15, the scale will tell you your pulse rate. It should be endlessly fascinating, and you can use it to strike up conversations with the medical personnel beyond, "When is lunch, and can I have multi-colored Jello?"
