    Watch Recommendation < $3,000

Hi all, first time poster and starting to search for a watch that would be a present for older brother's wedding. Was hoping you guys could direct me to find a nice watch that meets the following criteria (in order of importance):

    - <$3,000
    - High quality movement
    - Simple design
    - Preferably leather strap
    - No precious jewels

Basically, what I'm looking for is a watch where the majority of the money spent will go towards getting the highest quality movement rather than to precious jewels. I've started searching and have found a couple that have the look I'm looking for but are a bit too expensive:

Transocean Day & Date - Breitling - Instruments for Professionals
OMEGA Watches: De Ville Trésor Omega Master Co-Axial 40 mm - White gold on leather strap - 432.53.40.21.02.004

Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I own two Christopher Ward watches, a C5 Malvern MkII which I love and a C60 which I am having disputes with them now as the bezel fell off. Their customer service is 2nd to none. That watch is pretty much their flagship watch so I am sure it will have no problems. i think the new C9 is a lovely design but christopher ward really need to do something about the fact that their flagship models all come in the C9 case which is 43mm and wears even bigger as their is no bezel like on a dive watch.

In that price point I would be tempted to go for something German as they are hard to beat for value for money and technology that goes into the watch. Damasko, Sinn, Nomos, Stowa.

Zenith is by far the best option I've heard here. I'd go with that.

Lets push this back inside the box. You can easily find a nice used Aqua Terra 8500 for around $3k.
