Watch repair/restoration recommendation - Melbourne AUS

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a repairer/restoration specialist in Melbourne, Australia for either or both:
    - Valjoux movements, specifically the cal. 72, and
    - vintage Roamer watches, specifically the '73 Stingray chronograph.

The watch is my late fathers, and it's one of these: Roamer Stingray Chronograph (Valjoux Cal. 72)? | The Watch Spot

The Watch works when wound, but stops after a few hours. The chronograph works for about 15 seconds. The crystal is a bit scratched, and the dial could use a bit of love.

I'd send it to that guy, but he's on the other side of the planet, so I figured I'd try finding someone like him here first.

    Thanks in advance.

Dunno about Melbourne but if you’re happy to ship it interstate try Max Schweitzer in Sydney

    Hi Beej75,

    Three good local guys below...

    Colman Antique Clocks > Home

~ Ferntree Gully Watch and Clock ~

    https://www.thewatchgallery.com.au/repairs-restoration/

In the U.K I have had good dealings here...

    https://thewatchbloke.co.uk/

If I was you I would reach out to the locals and gets some quotes. They may want to see the Roamer in the Flesh. Bit hard for the U.K contacts. The watch spot is respected and I've read many of his service threads. Don't be too worried about sending overseas - you'd be surprised how many watches are jetting around the globe on any given day.

    Regards,

Head over to the AWF group on FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/490183454493735/ there's a lot of Melbourne folk there that can help find someone to restore your watches.

Maybe when someone posts up a "Help I'm in Perth and need..." you'll be all "I got this"

dantan, if you really want a daytona, check out horology house, he might be able to source one for you. The owner, Chris is based in Perth I believe

    Regards,
I would agree with James there. I have used Colman & The Watch Gallery for repairs but was only for time only pieces. I have found Colman slightly more friendly and cheaper. I have also used the place at 343 little Collins Street but that was with more modern watches but I also believe they can do vintage.

There is a couple of place that get mentioned on here including Tik Tok & Migitech but no experience with them.

Laslty there is a guy in Adelaide who does some nice dial restorations, I’ll try find a link for you.

    Best of Luck
