    Watch styles have barely changed

Trends come and go but some watch designs have survived nearly unchanged for 3/4 of a century.
78 years is the Life expectancy in the United States so 75 years is pretty long time.
What watches have not changed in that amount of time? I have a mild obsession with timelessness of designs and love wearing Duffelcoats
What designs from the 1940s have lasted the test of time (har har).
catch: they have to still look somewhat modern and not some Chippendale (not the strip club) artifact.

The common denominator across three centuries of watch making is a round dial.

I'd say the Apple Watch is here to stay... although design may change.

You would be hard pressed to make that statement about square, rectangular or tonneau shaped cases.

I'm sure they did, doesn't mean it's a good comparison.

    Watch styles have barely changed

I get that a lot of watches today are inspired by previous models. I want to know why though some watchmakers don't stay truer to the original design. You have a cult following for vintage pieces cause of the design and size, some people willing to pay crazy amounts. I know they are trying to appeal to the masses, but I feel like reissued vintage watches would do well.

Kind of frustrating when you like the vintage style but today's market makes it unattainable.
