Watches that don't tell time. (Doesn't seem like telling any time.)

After looking around the web for watches I happen to get on to some watch retailers that sell watches that will probably will cost me both of my arms and legs to get. While at the same time from the pictures it seems to be impossible to tell time. Now I'm wondering who wears those types of watches and why? Especially the skeleton watches that have no numbers or the minute hand. It seems very odd to have something not do the job that it was built(?)

Seems you are in the function over form camp!

A watch can be anything from an instrument to art in various forms, and everything in between. This is what makes watches so interesting.

You mean something like these Haldimanns ? I don't get them either but someone out there probably does

Haldimann seems to be the only maker who's doing what i was interesting in. Sort of. Always wondered if anyone is making a skeleton mechanical watch that doesn't really tell any time, it just showcases the mechanial movement in all it's possible glory.
It doesn't matter how much the watch costs, it only matters if it makes your heart tick.

Then what you do if somebody asks you "what time is it?"

Wear a Panerai wrist-compass & when they ask what time it is, tell them "Northwest"
