    watches with a hour & minute subdial readability

    Having never seen an ALS Lang 1 or Glashutte Original PanorReserve or any watch in person with the main hour and minute hand located as a sub dial.Can anyone comment on how the readability is when glancing down at your watch like you would normally do? Is this a non-issue or was there a learning curve(for lack of a better term) maybe an extra split second to focus in on the time?
    I would really like to see for myself sometime as I'd to own one someday but for now would like to hear what others have to say.

    Absolutely no problem reading the time in a glance, especially with blue hands on silver. Even with glasses.

    If you are just glancing at a Lange 1 you are doing it all wrong.
    EnderW, OvrSteer and Synequano like this.
    Patek Philippe 5711/1A, white dial;
    Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe steel on sail cloth;
    IWC Portofino Automatic, black dial;
    Seiko A159 5009G (originally my father's, from 1978);
    Apple Watch 4
    Casio G Shock GW 5610NV-2JF

    Ha... yeah,w Lange 1 it is easy to end up staring at it for a long while, and not because of readability issues.
    I found it very easy to tell time with just a quick glance.
    Same for GO Pano models.

    Only exception would be PanoInverse - stunning watch but readability is very poor. 100% recommend for looks, but definitely not for easy time telling.

    Re: watches with a hour & minute subdial readability

    Because the hour and minute use a shared time track telling time should be as easy as a full dial design. Dial designs such as regulator and jumping hours can be more of a challenge to use at a glance.
