Watches showing off innards - viewable through dial

The intricate moving parts are the magic of a mechanical watch. Looking for some examples of watches that have some or all of the inner-workings viewable through the dial. HOWEVER, important clarification - not interested in designs that significantly compromise readability. Probably best explained by pictures. The El Primero below gives us a little look at what's under the hood while still offering a readable design. In contrast, we see a lot more from the Hublot but the thing is completely unreadable.

    Preferences
    • View of the inner-bits while still being readable
    • Prefer more a sport model on a bracelet over a dressier watch on leather
    • Prefer NOT chronograph, but interested in seeing anything
    • Prefer price under $7500, but interested in seeing anything

Examples - El Primero YES (readable), Hublot NO (not readable)

The Zenith Open heart has a decent chance of being my next buy. It fills 2 holes in my collection: Chrono and Skeleton

I think the tri-color version is much nicer than the Black Dialed one. It is almost essential to the Zenith El-Primero

Breguet Tradition is the ultimate expression of a skeleton watch IMHO. Steeped in Horological history of the brand.

Ranges from $14,000 - $140,000 depending on model and complications (Tourbillon being the huge expensive model)

A few that I've had that I picked up new or used within your budget.

Perrelet skeleton rattrapante - very easy to read with the white hands

Zeniths - can be had on a bracelet

Glashutte - can be had on a bracelet

And for fun outside the budget :

Sporty non-chronograph skeleton on a bracelet? First one that comes to mind is the Zenith Defy. For the record, all skeletons are illegible to my eyes....so I’ll leave judgment of that to you. Pics swiped at random...

sounds like you're specifically looking for "open heart" watches as opposed to "skeleton" watches.

In general, I'm not a fan of skeleton/open heart designs, but there is one for which I'd make an exception...
