    Watches and Stereo Speakers

    Hey All:

Lately I have heard a lot about magentism and stereo speakers. What is the general consensus.

I am running out of space in the bedroom and was going to put a watch box on top of one of the speakers.

Is that watch suicide...or is it the internals of the speaker like what an installer would encounter that is the issue.

I look forward to learning the answer. Thanx
    kind regards,

That depends on the size of the enclosures. A smaller enclosure would put the speaker magnets closer to your watch. I often put my watches on my speakers while fooling with the wiring or putting in a new component with no problem. These are 30" high enclosures.

I don't care how well shielded the speakers are, I wouldn't lay a watch on one.

If your bigger enclosures feature bigger speakers, with bigger magnets, than it's still not a good option. There's also marked difference between leaving a watch on top of a speaker for a few hours and keeping your watch collection permanently on top of one.

    Two rules to live by:

    1. Never store wine on top of the referigerator

    2. Never store watches on top of the speakers
