Watches under $500 that will converse their value?

I am trying to see if there are watches under $500 that conserve their value over time (for re-sale for example). Please post brand name, watch style and picture if possible.

    Thank you!!

Most new watches in general don't hold their value THAT well, but lower end ones are often worse. You'd probably be better off buying a preowned, not current model in that price range. That way if you are able to keep it in good condition, it won't go down in value much at all. It you buy new, Hamiltons seem to hold their value relatively well in that price range. Micro brands (especially if you find a particularly desirable model) often do exceptionally well in retaining value, but most would be closer to $800.

    No formula exists.
Whatever is considered desirable, and is desired as such by many, will always hold value, and get more valuable in proportion to its scarcity.
I've seen even the odd retro 70's Seiko fetch a pretty penny if the design was attractive, and was in top cosmetic and mechanical condition.

    Yeah, what 9573 said.

Find a watch that retails for $1,000 and get it used on watchrecon.com for $500.

the only watches that hold or gain value are already worth hundreds of thousands or a cool mil.

The only watches that may fit this criteria have been Seiko JDM models, but this has primarily been caused by the strength of the yen.

Just do what I do & tell them the only sure bet is Invicta. Those ....ers appreciate like you wouldn't believe, if you chance across one that is being sold at a bit of a discount off of MSRP.

    Keep your eyes peeled!

I just realized, I think the OP was aiming for the word "conserve"... For the life of me, couldn't figure that out.
