Well, well, well: what do we want for Christmas???

    Hi -

Just ran across this one: this is the solution, of course, to getting younger folk, who have increasingly relied on their mobiles for time-keeping functions, to actually wear a watch.

Supposed to go on sale towards the beginning of September, and the Australian design claims to have production ramping up to 280'000/month by then, making it, of course, the perfect Christmas present.

Or is it? What happens if this really, really catches on, who's gonna be wearing actual watches?

    Hi John,

I've read about this watch on Dutch gadget blogs. Although I do believe this is something that will sell pretty good, I don't think it will ever replace the watches we so dearly love and wear. True watches aren't a gadget, the Mymobile watch is. Gadgets don't last

Oh, and btw, I'd rather have the to be launched Sony Ericsson K850i or (back to watches....) a Dornblueth & Son

I checked the manufacturers website at http://www.mymobilewatch.com but there is no information about how long the battery lasts and how it is loaded or needs to be replaced. There is also no distributor listed, not even in Australia, the homeland of the M500.

    Why not

This is where I figure it's gonna go - I've posted this idea/prophecy before -

'What better place to have your "mobile phone/watch/whatever else you need to carrry" than on your wrist connected via bluetooth to earpieces' ?

    Guaranteed

(One other development will go one better - Instead of earpieces which are uncomfortable, restrictive & can pose a health problem - I believe that a type of neckband will be developed with 'pad' sensors for sound delivery behind the ears)
