What do you think are the best new chronographs for $5000 or less other than the Speedmaster

I've been looking at the Omega Seamaster chronograph, as it has everything I want it to, date, rotating bezel and stainless steal bracelet. However I think it is a rather ugly watch, in particular the hands. The most common choice would would be the Speedmaster, but what puts me off of that watch is the lack of a date function among a few other things like the domed crystal, the tachymeter on the bezel and not being automatic. Another thing I liked about the Seamaster was the high water resistance, even tough I don't plan on swimming I suspect it may be a sign of overall durability.

The main criteria are a date function, stainless steal bracelet, and less importantly a rotating bezel and higher water resistance would be nice.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions, thank you.

Try the Ball NEDU if you want a chronograph with high WR. Available in the $3k range in a lot of places. BONUS: you get a tritium lume.

EDIT: Also available in white and blue dial, as well as black

If a rotating bezel and high water resistance aren't a deal breaker for you, then I'd suggest an El Primero which you can get on the grey market within your budget. Don't think you can get a much better chrono than that for 5K.

I like the Breitling SuperOcean Heritage Chronograph 44 and the old-style Eterna Kontiki Chronograph:

Zenith El Primero is the answer for chronographs in <$5K space.
Specifically Stratos for bracelet and WR. Look at reputable GMs (in some instanced this can be had for well under $5K, and with OEM warranty)

PS. If considering pre-owned and willing to search a bit, there are some real nice Breguet Type XX specimens available FS at this price.
