What Just Came In: Grand Seiko SBGH213 Hi-Beat

We just got Grand Seiko's classic SBGH213 in, one of few Grand Seikos offered with Arabic numerals (or really, with numerals at all).

The 39.5mm watch is powered by a 9S85 movement, Grand Seiko's high-end automatic calibre. This movement beats 10 times per second, making for an exceptionally smooth seconds hand.

The SBGH213 is one of the most classic watches offered by Grand Seiko today, and it's priced at $6,200. Click here to learn more!

I can’t tell if I like it or not. I’m so use to seeing GS have indices that the numerals look odd.
My collection changes so often I got tired of redoing my signature

Very nice Indeed it looks to be a fairly versatile piece because of the silver shiny aspect of the Arabics, I could see that as dressy to sporty/casual

I don't like the look of the arabic numerals. I can't quite tell from the photos but are the numerals applied, or embossed on the dial?

Also, the side view makes the watch look like it's too thick relative to its case diameter. This seems to be a problem in general with the dressier Grand Seikos.

Very nice! Love the second hand splash of color.

Like it but I think the numerals need a little more heft!

Sweet. Looks really nice on that strap.

    Enjoy.

Beautiful, but needs about 3mm shaved off the thickness. Why are dressy GS's as thick as modern dive watches?

Do not care for the skinny font.

I think the font and especially the weight are aiming for a 50s retro vibe. I'd actually put it into the GADA category, after a strap swap. I don't think that face goes with gator.

I think the more important criticism: 13 mm? Yeah, WAY too tall, especially if they're placing it in the "Elegance" collection.
