What should I get next? Help me with my collection

So my goal is to get to maybe 4 or 5 pieces all under $1,000, because I realized you can get a lot of watch for under $1,000

So what direction should I go next? Make a recommendation.

It can be formal dress, sports, divers. The only request is that they have uncomplicated dials. I don't like chronos with 10 little hands telling me different things.

The other thing to keep in mind, I have a 6" wrist. Very small. So although I like a 50mm diver it wouldn't look nice on me.

    That's about it.

And quartz is OK in some watches. For instance, an Ecozilla, fine if it's Quartz. A dress watch? No way. I couldn't look down at a dress watch and see it ticking like a cheap wall clock.

    So now what.

Maybe a Stowa Antea at 36mm?

    Smith's Everest?

The most uncomplicated dial I know of, and it looks great on straps to change the look at will.

The Armida A6 is along the same lines, but is slightly larger in size.

Yea. I have been thinking about a black dial diver.

+1. I love my Everest. It's very versatile and looks great on just about anything. I wear mine on a black parastrap from Steveostraps.

I don't have any specific recommendations, but my "gut" says you need a light-weight, sporty, very casual non-diver on a brown leather strap (maybe a bracelet). Something for the summer months. I'm thinking a black dial - for a change of pace from the Tissot. It should also have a brushed case and look at home on a Nato...or even a sailcloth strap....

Yikes...I'm not really sure where that came from..kinda makes me sound a wee-bit like a diva fashionista....

What the heck....I'll leave it. Like I said, it was just my "gut" reaction. That....

or a balls-out tactical watch. There, I ended on a "manly" note.

When did it change from just not being able to afford to spend more than $1000 on a watch?

    Anyway.

I used to think that I'd be OK with a watch like that in 40mm but trying on 36-38mm watches completely shut the door on the idea.
I don't think a watch of that Explorer style can work on small wrists if it's bigger than 40mm.
The Smiths in particular has quite a long lug to lug too doesn't it?

I see you're a member of the skinny wrist club like me. Don't let the published size of the Shogun put you off as you may well be able to wear one.

Just thought. The Chris Ward C60 Pro 600 is lovely and they now do it in the C61 format which is smaller.

The 2 recommendations I'd have are:
    1) Seagull 1963. You mentioned dislike for busy chronos - this one is a very clean dial and is a nice affordable casual watch
    2) Not really a single watch, but a whole range of Seiko SARB - some great casual watches w a lot of versatility and good sized for your wrist: SARB033 (beautiful black dial, nice bracelet, very conservative 38mm, great fit); SARB017 Alpinist (stunning green dial, crown at 4 o'clock for something different, adventurous looking), Seiko Cocktail time (stunning dial, a bit large diameter\thickness, but may fit still)
