aww no pic. I'll see if I can fix that.

Ok is this the one? I'll admit my ignorance and say I know nothing of the brand. I'm sure someone else will comment. But I will say I love the design. If you're going to have a moonphase indicator, it may as well be a BIG display with no other subdials cluttering things up. For that reason I'm not so keen on the ETA 7751. This one is very nice. Nice looking case too.

You're quite a handyman there, GlennO.
If it's THIS one we're talking about, OH MAN oh man oh manischewitz! I'd buy this in a heartbeat if I could.
Quality? Aw, come on! Could it possibly suck - when it's possible to nail 99% of it for under $300?

Right now, I have about 5 Perrelets on my radar.

I agree, it is a nice looking watch. What would a good pre owned price be?

Lots of History behind the name, I think the brand was resurrected post 2000, I may be wrong as running on grey matter and not google!

I have no idea. You will need to do some searching to find out what the new retail price is, the grey market price, and ideally the asking or sold price of other pre-owned ones. You can then be reasonably confident about how much you should pay.

I agree. I'm glad to make their acquaintance. Especially like how they've made the bezel/case thick, utilitarian.

Perrelet, along with brands like LOUIS ERARD, are very good value IMO.
Maybe it's bcz they're in the process of regrouping after a fallout / crisis? I don't know, but at least for LOUIS ERARD, I can say - as I have several - that they're very good.
Good values, but 'Bang for the buck' doesn't really apply here. They're not exactly cheap, but they're not absurdly priced either.

I've seen many BEAUTIFUL Perrelets marked under $2,500, and sitting fine next to dull dull dull brands like Concord with price tags in the 5-8 K. Absurd! In that sense, I say Perrelets (and L.E.) are "reasonably" priced, given their provenance and level of craftsmanship.

I see brands like Perrelet like eating at a very fine restaurant that's tucked away in one of the smaller streets in Rimini where everything is fresh from their orchard, and the aunt does just 1st rate cooking. Sure, not cheap eatin', but worth every bit, AND, they do NOT try to scalp you by charging you 500 euros for some pretentious crappy wine just bcz it comes in a dusty bottle.

That's a good analogy. Perrelet's moonphase watch is a design tour de force plus IMO. Whole new way of looking at time. When you look at your wrist you not only see time but also context. Might get kind of heavy...

I'll take a chance, it's now my grail.
