    What watch is this?

My wife bought me this Movado a very long time ago and I no longer have any of the paperwork which came with the watch.

The face looks like the Saffiro but the band is unlike any watch I've seen. The underside/back of the band looks like black PVD but the top looks like black sapphire, highly glossy but scratch resistant.

The model(?) number on the back is 84-40-880A.

What is the name of this watch, what is the band, and assuming almost perfect condition, what is this watch worth? No, I don't want to sell it but if valuable, want to make sure I insure it.

    Thanks for your help!

Posting a picture would be quite helpful in determining what it is.

Generally though, Movados do not hold their value well at all, and insuring it might not be necessary.

Edit: does it look something like this?

Yes, as you can see, it looks like the watch you posted BUT the band is not the PVD type like the Saffiro. It has a surface like the watch crystal itself. Hope the pics I posted show what I mean?

    I would say it's ceramic.

    Is that good?

The watch IS light as a feather.

Did they make many of these? I haven't ever seen this watch anywhere else?
