What watch was Alberto Contador wearing on the podium?

    Hi,

My name is Pete and this is my first post on this forum. I own a few inexpensive watches which are listed on my profile.

While watching the final stage of the Tour de France this morning, I noticed that Alberto Contador was wearing a cool watch on the podium.

This is the best pic I could find:

    Can anyone identify this watch?

    Thanks,

    Pete

Hey welcome! Im not sure what the watch is but it was certainly capable of telling him how many seconds he could rip off Schleck after his chain came off.

Although, even if Andy kept the 31 seconds, he still would
have lost the yellow in the time trial.
My other watch is a Cyclometer.

Not to mention that Schleck chose not to have a chain guard fitted to his bike in order to save weight...

To the OP, it might be worth checking if the Astana team have a watch manufacturer amongst their sponsors.
German: Junghans Meister Chronoscope | Nomos Tangente | Stowa Exima ETA & PUW 560
Others: Accurist World Time Chronograph | Mondaine solar powered | Omega Seamaster 'Calypso' | Orient Blue Mako | Orient CVZ0001B ana-digi | Reena WeatherMaster VII

Just realized, I think Astana is sponsored by a company from Kazakhstan -- maybe he's wearing the latest Amphibian!

Schleck has gotten over it and described him as a great and worthy champion. Why do you harbour bitterness when the supposedly wronged party does not?

I am a big fan of Schleck, but that was operator error.

Astana is pretty much the Kazakh national team, just with lots of foreign riders. It's supported by the Kazakh government and has numerous Kazakh sponsors (Astana is the capital city, if you didn't know already :) ).

And according to VeloNews, Schleck did have a chain catcher. Apparently his chain came off the bottom of the chainring, not the top, caused by shifting up to a higher gear whilst simultaneously stamping on the pedals.
