In celebration of a personal achievement by my wife, I am looking to gift a watch to her. Her only two watches at this moment are Michael Kors brand, which she likes, and although she is not a watch enthusiast by any measure (did I mention she owns Michael Kors), she has expressed interest in a Shinola Runwell (with a tan/white dial), though as a Shinola Runwell owner myself, I am hesitant to go down that path and would like to do something different only because I have somewhat soured on Shinola. The only question is, what to get instead. She is 5'10, athletic, and I am looking for a watch that can be worn on the daily and can be had for less than $2,000 (preferably new, but used is acceptable). It can be mechanical/automatic or quartz and leather straps are preferable.
I have considered the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date, Nomos Orion, Omega Aqua Terra, and Weiss. Any assistance is much appreciated, although you can save yourself the time and not bother with a Cartier Tank recommendation.
