What a wierd visit to Zales.

So there I am bored out of my skull waiting for Nicci to do her interview at the tea shop in our local mall (the interviewer was a tool and on his phone the whole time I guess) Anyway, it seems there is an Invicta case in Zales. I wander up and start looking. I'm wearing a sweater so my tungsten chronograph is under a sleeve and out of view. A kind lady offers to show me something. I try this on:

I have an 8 inch wrist (I'm 5'7" and fairly stocky). I ask the lady what she thinks. Apparently I don't fit the usual invicta style. She says I need to be a foot taller and have pencil thin wrists. Of course I took my watch off to try it on. I'm told it simply isn't me and she suggests a nice Citizen or Seiko. Sorry no pics of those, but I found it interesting she more or less told me she wouldn't sell me an Invicta. Yeah it was kind of an experiment, and honestly Zales impressed me, we'll shop there again.

I find her approach refreshing. Would have been far easier for her to play along and tell you how smashing it looked but instead she went against the norm and earnestly tried to earn your business.
    Cool points earned!

We're the seiko's and citizens more or less expensive? If they were more than its a no brainer...she was up-selling you.
    Calm down.....It's just a watch....

Even priced to less expensive. The citizen eco drive I looked at was around 150$ opposed to 300 something for the invicta with a 10% military discount in addition to the standard store discount, whatever that was. The Seiko selection was somewhat limited, only had quartz and had none of the 5 series.

Ah I wish sir, sadly this is Lincoln Nebraska. Relocated here a couple of weeks ago so she could have the baby near family.

Edit: but I'm not done with SD completly, next time I cross through Sioux Falls I'll shoot you a pm.
