What is wrong with this picture

This watch is Kenneth Cole watch.

What is with that diver's bezel looking thingy?
This is tonneau style watch, how the hack does the bezel turn?
Also, WHY is the first 15 minutes of the hour marked red on the bezel?

Obviously, someone who designed this watch did not have any clue what those bezel is for.
    Chronic flipper...

Form over function. Yes that "bezel" does not turn.
    Lots of dive watches.

Hee hee..really wonder what went on when they designed it. Aren't they supposed to know such stuff? But then again even Hamilton made a mistake with their BelowZero chrono series when they didn't include a minutes sub-dial for its chronograph function.

Put it into the category: Wrist Watches the world does not need.

Obvious. After the minute hand is past 15 minutes, you can turn up to the party which started on the hour, as you are now fashionably late. This is immensely important to some, hence the red markings of the bezel to help avoid turning up to a dead crowd. You guys have to think about the requirements of those for which these kinds of watches are specifically designed for.

I like it. It's from the "get off your rear and make someting of your life" line of watches. First 15 minutes of every hour is the most important. It's sets the tone for the whole hour.... As someone said, form over function. It's a simple aknowledgment that most divers bezels are style anyway. I've seen arabic numerals counting to 60 on the edge of the dial on numerous watches. My Seastar has that. Maybe it's the "function"....

Design evolves and fashion changes. Look at your suit, or a sports jacket, and check out the lapels. Do you know why they look like that?

Ages ago, a jacket like that could be buttoned up to the neck. It became normal to wear the top buttons loose and let the fabric hang open when inside or in warm weather. That's why the lapels have points at the end - once these would have been the ends of the collar when closed. And at some point the design of jackets evolved to simply look like that from the start, losing the function. And now you wear one without even having an idea you're sporting a 'clueless' look, unable to properly close your jacket against the cold.

The designer may very well have had a clue (in fact, I suspect he knew very well). But either just didn't give a damn or desired the look of a diver on a more dressy tonnaeu watch, without the unnecessary function.
