Sold a few watches on eBay. With all the ........ fees they charge, I always ended up losing money. Never again.

Selling fast to buy. I enjoy the thrill of the chase too much. Then I get the watch and it's on my wrist for a week before I'm thinking about what's next. This at times results is rash decisions.

Told it before, buying that "Hormilton" out of a car trunk for $15 in 1964. Found it last week and it's missing its crown, I'll keep it just for the shame.

One of my mistakes early on was selling everything on just one forum, f29. This was before I realized that certain watch forums are better tailored for certain watch price ranges. On WuS affordable to midrange luxury sells quickly for what the market price is. For watches above 6K then TRF or watchnet is often the better place to list. They sell faster and you generally get higher offers.

I think not having patience. Ironically, my impulse buys have been about even (staying with me, being sold) but I had no idea my own whims would change over time.

Dropping nearly $2000 on an admittedly beautiful (new from AD deeply discounted floor model) Longines Conquest Sport Column Wheel Chrono rather than saving a little more $$ and getting my grail (Tudor Heritage Black Bay Blue) second hand which would have been fine with me.
