Question What's the best bargain you've had on a watch?

Somewhat inspired by the 'what watch was overpriced but you bought it anyway'...couldn't think of a reply to that thread so I thought I'd try the opposite...

For me, I guess it would be these 2 vintage NOS 18 carat Omegas:

Both came in a little under €1000 each...retro styling not to everyone's taste, but personally I really enjoy wearing them. Both on crocodile too! Quite small and yet some make the argument that a vintage gold dress watch should be quite small. Overall I feel these are great for the money.

    So how 'bout you??

You can regularly find 50s/60s manual wind thin (6mm) men's Longines for $250 to $300 that I do not think much inferior - if at all - to equivalent Omegas, etc.

This was $200 - works perfectly, 6mm, ideal size for my wrist, IMO.

My best bargains remain under top secret classification.

Seriously, I never thought I’d have something like that happen to me. You hear the stories… Anyway, I flipped them and it wouldn’t be proper decorum to disclose such information.

It's a Patek i found at a flea market in Hanoi... oh wait, no.

Actually, my Lange. Got a cracking deal on it from my AD (helped that i had gotten an AP from him a few months ago) - saved Rolex money, lemme put it this way.

Usual answer, my Lucien Piccard, although many of you would have said it was overpriced when it listed for $110.

Re: What's the best bargain you've had on a watch?

My best bargain... I was trying to buy a used Grand Seiko SBGM023 from an AD in Philly. It turns out that they had already sold the used one, but forgot to take the add down from their website before excepting my offer. They ended up giving me a new SBGM023 at the excepted offer for the used watch of >35% off MSRP. I was thrilled with this deal and felt that they went beyond what they needed to do.
