    What's my watch worth?

I bought this recently. The case was heavily scratched, but the sapphire crystal was still like new. Dial is perfect, and this is a discontinued (and maybe rare) model. The strap was about two sizes two small, and not original. The model is Baume & Mercier Classima Executives L "Dual-Time." I've polished out the scratches, and have a nice strap on order for it. I'm curious as to the value, although I don't plan to sell it.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks - Boomzilla

Without trying to be elitist... this is probably the wrong subforum. However, the answer you’ll most likely receive is that it’s worth what you paid. Usually we don’t discuss prices here.

    Thanks, arejay101 - May I ask two follow-up questions? (I'm a newbie here):

    1. What would be the right subforum? (if any)

2, Where on the web would I look for an answer regarding prices? (eBay's never heard of the model, and Google had but the ONE reference).

    Thanks - Boomzilla

Wrong forum as this is far from high-end. Public forum more appropriate.
This is not classima executive, but a Hampton 8685 XL model (MOA08685).

WUS does not offer price valuations as it's very subjective. But for reference - these can be found brand new for $1200-1300 in Grey Market (amazon has one right now for $1300).
Being a discontinued model, and a rectangular one (less popular and harder to fit all wrists) - I'd expect used price would be significantly less than that.

PS. Rare does not apply here. It may not be common as it's an older\discontinued model and perhaps wasnt popular to begin with, but it's not rare (as in sought out).

    Hi EnderW -

The only number on the watch (I'm not sure if it's a model or serial #) is "3875388." Thanks for your help with ID.

I understand that WUS isn't the place for my question and I'll take it elsewhere. I also agree that this isn't "rare" in the sense of being "sought-out."

It looks like a "Reversal," must be priceless. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I have B&M Capeland Chronograph, and the market value of these watches are not that great. Although, I find these watches totally undervalued.

Best to check chrono24. It will give you indicative pricing, if and when it becomes available.

As above though, it won't be worth very much so don't get your hopes up.

You should consider condition when establishing a value. Because the case was heavily scratched and polished it will no longer have the factory finish. A non-original finish will be significant to most collectors. It is missing the factory strap and buckle which other new models have.

I gotta tell you that watch probably has very little resale potential. First of all it’s a highly undesirable piece. I imagine you’d struggle to clear $500 given the issues you have mentioned. Baume & Mercier is a brand that doesn’t move unfortunately.
