    What's your watch love story?

Was it a vintage watch passed down from your grandfather? Was it James Bond? Was it a fascination with intricate mechanisms? What got you into watches? Tell your time tale.

We first met when I was but a teenager my true love and I but things like houses, children and wives came along. It was only many many years later that I managed to renew our relationship (I’d never actually forgotten her) and the Daytona and I could finally be together.

I picked up a girl in college by telling her how much I liked her watch. Does that count?

Nothing whatsoever to do with intricate mechanisms or any of that other stuff. When I was a kid I just liked watches. things snowballed from there. I never got to the point where I had a tale to tell. If I did it would be pretty damn boring.
I just like watches. Oh-and picnics and long walks on the beach.

My mom got me into watches...

Back in elementary school I was mostly into Casios then on 6th grade I got a gift of two tone Tag then I got one Tag after another before I bought a 16570 then after that it went downhill to mechanical for me,though I still have at least a Gshock (or two)

The Tags that started this journey, not gonna sell them

When I was about 8, my father bought a tt Rolex Thunderbird with black dial. It was about 1959, and that was the most amazing looking watch I saw for the next 15 years, or so. Back then, a 36mm watch on bracelet was a large watch and a bold design.

I knew back then that I liked watches and, especially Rolex.

I went on a hunt for an American made automatic watch one day. I don't know why. I had no idea how hard that was to find. What I ended up with was a '63 Hamilton with an American made 505 electric mechanical movement. After that were a bunch of other Hamiltons, then a few Seikos, a couple micros, an Oris, a Zodiac, some more Hamiltons, a couple Tudors, a few Omegas. And I've only been at it about nine months, hopefully it will calm down soon when I'm done rebuilding my collection.

Several years ago, my wife knew I wanted a "nice" watch, so she shopped around until she found a vintage 1980s DateJust. She gave it to me for Christmas, and while I loved it, I gradually grew to appreciate the smaller details. The jubilee dial. The fluted bezel. Rolex's history. Whenever I look at that watch, it reminds me of my wife and my journey into my watch passion.

I was drawn to watches because of their delicate mechanical intricacies and how they work together in harmony.
