    Where do I even start?

Newbie here.. I guess I'm looking to broaden my single income and am interested in flipping a watch every now and again, nothing too serious. But with starting to get interested in watches this past year and I just feel there is SO much to learn I'm not even sure where to start. If anybody could point me in the right direction towards some possible guides, or books, even send me a PM that would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure it will come down to knowing the market, finding good deals and getting a bit of luck, but I'm also interested in horology as a whole and knowing your product is always number one.

If by “broaden my income” you mean spread it out over several watches, you’re in the right place.
But if you mean make more income by flipping watches, good luck.

Tommy is right, there's a saying around here: if you want to make a small fortune flipping watches you have to first start with a large fortune.

IMHO unless you can jump into the Rolex stainless steel sport watch (vintage and/or modern) game you're going to be chasing your tail.

I’ve definitely lost $ on every watch I’ve sold so I’d be careful here. Hasn’t bothered me, though, as I easily got my money’s worth from the pure wrist-time enjoyment from each one.

If you’re looking to make a little extra cash by flipping watches it’s not easy to do.

The amount of time you'll be spending looking for a good buy, bidding, preparing listings, preparing shipments, etc can add up. There's no guarantee you'll make a profit especially if you had to pay too much in the first place, and if there are sellers fees etc. Better off getting a part time job 8-10 hours a week.

You can use the search engine here to locate many threads on the do's and don't of flipping watches.

Definitely do your research. Money can be made but it certainly helps if you have at least medium watch maker skills. Otherwise there are too many fellow sharks lurking to eat any under priced watches. For example, watchrecon, ebay etc. forget it. It takes literally hours to find a newly listed item that someone does not realize the value of the watch. Thousands of others are also looking so as stated above: (from Taken Good Luck).
