    Who Will Take Omega's place?

Since the Swatch Group has decided to try and make Omega a direct competitor to Rolex, what company will they have take its spot? This has been discussed throughout a few threads, but I searched and didn't find a specific thread dedicated to this question. If there has been, I apologise! From what I've gathered, a few people think either Longines or Tissot that will replace Omega's slot of price and quality. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Longines is the most appropriate brand to take that spot. A step above Tissot in both brand recognition and prestige. The watches also look better and are pricier.

Yep, Longines. I think I even read that that was Omega's official strategy. It makes sense. Get a Longines Column Wheel chrono while they are still dirt cheap. Way better deal than anything Omega has in their portfolio except the entry level 8500 and 9300 watches, by which I mean watches with these movements in their cheapest iteration.

I concur. Longines is poised to take that spot over. Which is great. I like Omega well enough, but Longines' styling is more appealing to me personally.

Man, wish I could afford one! . The Hydroconquest fits my age group the most, but I'd love to own a couple of the ones in the master collection.

The column wheel is only $6-700 more than the Hydroconquest stuff. Why not get the CW?

I agree with the Longines assessment. They're already heavily pushing the hydroconquest line onto the general public - I was surprised when my brother mentioned the name last month because he's not into watches at all (been wearing the same Tag 2000 since 1991).

Anyways in terms of brand recognition in Asia, one surveyhad Longines rated 4th (albeit a distant 4th) behind Rolex, Patek and Omega so it makes sense that it be positioned to take Omega's place in Swatch's lineup.

The Retrograde models are VERY high on my list. It looks like Swatch is starting to show their movements a little special attention too in the Retrograde line.

I'm in high school, I can afford neither the Hyrdoconquest or a Longines CW. Barely can scrape enough together for a Seiko 5. But one day, I will own those watches!!
