A wife (in a Masterís program) and two kids...

....and because of that, this will not be a purchase in the next month or two. I want to add a white/cream dialed watch to my collection. Price range less than $1000 but better yet, less then $500. Needs to be somewhat dressy but yet still slightly sporty. Looking to purchase within the next year and looking to get ideas flowing. Iíve thought about the SARB035 or Cocktail but Iím not sold on either of them yet. SOTC pic below for reference but add to that a Damasko DA38 that I havenít updated my photos with just yet. Thanks to all who have ideas!

Tissot Heritage 1948, $950 from Jomashop, though maybe a bit too sporty.

Not too sporty for what Iím looking for at all and a beautiful piece. I could use a nicer chrono but prefer three hands for a simpler dial. Definitely a decent idea though.

Why are you hesitant to buy the sarb? I bet if you get 1000 suggestions here none will be better, especially for the money

    I'm a sucker for chronographs.

As I'm exploring the Tissot line, I actually quite like some of them!

Here's another, Tissot Heritage Sovereign, $475 from Jomashop

But as others have said, the SARB035 is tough to beat, especially for the price!

The Mido Multifort straddles the dressy/sporty line for me. Within budget on the gray market for sure, and comes in 38mm sizing if you prefer SARB-like watches or 42mm if you're like me and... don't. The 42mm does wear large for a 42mm.

I'd give very strong consideration to the Certina DS4 Small Seconds as well, at a good 40mm compromise size.

If it were me I would consider one of the Ashford discounted JeanRichard pieces in either a white or silver dial. While the 3 hand models are beautiful and somewhat sporty by nature, they currently have a silver dialed chrono on a bracelet for 999. The casework is stunning and certainly will look like it cost more than what you'll spend.

Congrats to your wife for embarking on her Masters. I did mine with a full time job but without the added challenge of kids. She is a brave woman ;) .

I see you have the black SARB already.

I'd say get the SRP701. In budget, great dial, and will work with plenty of straps.
