Im looking to get an (in-budget) watch winder for a gift, he has an automatic Hamilton Aviation watch and I was looking at the Time Tutelary KA079 watch winder. It only turns in one direction at set intervals either clockwise or anti-clockwise selected via a switch on the back. It holds the watch at around a 45 degree angle in and would say it takes 2 seconds per revolution.
Does anyone have experience or know if this will work and keep the watch wound. I tried to copy the motion manually with my omega Seamaster and after 2 minutes of manually turning the watch in a similar motion nothing happened. Does the watch already need to be wound to effectively "kick start" the watch to work on a watch winder?
Any advice would be appreciated.
