    Will you ever buy 2 exactly the same watches just for different colour dial?

    Same Design, same model just the dial colour different, will you buy both?


    If so Why and Why Not?

    I see some people even have both Date and No Date SuB....

    No. I can understand the appealing of some collector to get as many variants around a model as possible (Reversos, Daytonas, GMTs, Speedies, etc) or even a set of same watch in different materials (like the amazing Patek chronos in the 4 iterations). But I am more a watch enthusiast than a die hard collector, so I prefer variety within a limited number of pieces in my stash. Not even two watches of the same brand ;).

    I have the Casio EF-503 in three dial colors....I liked the first one so much...perfect size, great build quality and detailing...that I bought two more.

    i have done that several times in the past, but a few years ago, reduced my "rotation" to a point where the few that remain are all quite distinct from each other--by design.

    It is very common for Rolex and Omega collectors to do this.

    There are also case variations of the same watch. Especially for the Speedy Pro.

    Not me. Too many cool watches to buy the same one twice. I have at some point owned two slightly different Speedmasters. But I would argue that the differences were more significant than a different colored dial.
