NOVEMBER 15TH 2013 – GRAND THÉÂTRE DE GENÈVE Live streaming on Gphg.org from 18:30 UTC/GMT + 1.
Back in September we ran an article inviting Watchuseek members to vote on the watches selected for this year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) selections.
Now, following stopovers in Beijing, Macao and Dubai, the 70 timepieces pre-selected by the jury of the 2013 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) are nervously pacing back and forth in their luxuriously padded presentation boxes, awaiting the 13th GPHG award ceremony which will take place tonight, Friday November 15th at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. The event will be held in the presence of Mr Ueli Maurer, President of the Swiss Confederation, along with the Genevan dignitaries and representatives of the international watchmaking profession. The awards will be hosted once again by master of ceremonies French writer Frédéric Beigbeder.
The members of the international jury of the 13th edition of the GHPG will be present on stage and will each take turns in announcing the names of the 2013 winners.
Geneva will have a live link-up with New York where the ceremony will be broadcast at a special event held in a well known boutique on Madison Avenue.
Watch lovers from around the world will be able to follow the ceremony live on the official GPHG website on Euronews.com, as well as on Worldtempus.com.
Who will win the prestigious “Aiguille d’Or” or another of the 15 other prizes up for grabs for the finest creations of the year? Last year’s winner was the TAG Heuer Mikrogirder. Shown above is a small cross section of some of the men's watches vying for horlogerie glory tonight. We will of course keep you updated on the results.
