What is the female version of a watch like a Rolex Sub or Omega Speedmaster? I am not looking for the tool aspect. Rolex Subs, and to a lesser extent Omega Speedmasters, have pretty universal appeal despite their tool toots. I am looking for the universal appeal.
Cartier Ballon Bleu (and pretty much the rest of the catalog) and the Chanel J12, the DJ is in there as well. MK watches seem to dominate the fashion price points.
Female version of the Rolex Sub is the Rolex Sub. I see a lot of women wearing it. I've never seen a women wearing the Speedy Pro though. I guess the Speedy Pro is a real man's watch
if you are not looking for new, the lady version of Rolex sub could be a Tudor mini-sub from the late 90s and early 2000. It's about 32-33mm in diameter and carries the sub DNA.
You must be forgetting about the ladies Speedmaster. I almost bought one for my wife, but she thought the ladies version was too blingy with its mother of pearl dial and diamond accents. Fortunately Omega wised up and came out with this.
The women's version of a Submariner is the 35mm Yachtmaster. The women's version of a Speedmaster is the 38mm Speedmaster. The Speedmasters at that size are pretty clearly aimed directly at women, while the Yachtmaster line has several rather feminine color combinations (including a mother of pearl dial).
Thanks for the responses. Just to be clear, I was not necessarily looking for a watch similar to a Submariner or Speedmaster. I was looking for something iconic that would be as recognizable to women as a Sub or Speedy is to men. [I know that's a stereotype, but there is usually a kernel of truth to stereotypes.]
This is for a gift. I have shown her Rolex Yachtmaster and Datejust, Omega Speedmaster, and Cartier Tank to pique her interest, but she found all but the Tank too masculine. FWIW, she considers my Marathon CSAR the epitome of industrial masculinity. She showed some interest in a Cartier Santos but was not excited.
