    World Time vs. GMT Choices

My next watch purchase will be something I'll use both at home to track time in different time zones (I work with folks across the US and in Europe), and when traveling. My budget is around $1500-2000, but more affordable is definitely under consideration. Here are some of the styles I like and I'm considering. I prefer a black face. No chronograph. Would prefer lume. (I wear my watch to bed.) I have a 7.25" wrist. Opinions or other options?

    Hamilton Jazzmaster GMT Auto
Pros: Very affordable. GMT hand with Cities Bezel. Decent movement (ETA 2893).
Cons: Hour hand not a quick set. Somewhat pedestrian in decoration.

    Ball Trainmaster Worldtime
Pros: Day added to complications. Rotating hours chapter ring. Good fit and finish. Tritium lume (blessing or curse, depending on your opinion).
Cons: No GMT hand (offset somewhat by the rotating hours bezel).

    Alpina Alpiner 4 GMT
Pros: Quick set hour hand. Very good lume (super luminova).
Cons: Will I ever use the 360 deg bezel?

I wish the Alpiner had a 24 hour or 12 hour bezel.

This new Alpina is being released soon. As far as I know it also has the movement with the quick set on the hour:

Out of those choices I would go with the Alpina. It seems to have most of the things you are looking for and has a clean, easy to read dial.

Glycine is having a fire sale right now, and it's a great opportunity to pick up a heritage brand w/a legacy in dual time/GMT ... I can't remember if I've seen a world timer w/a cities bezel/chapter ring, but certainly they have a variety of watches with GMT hands and 24-hour bezels. Head over to Joma ... when I ordered my Double 12, I received a stamped international warranty card along with it. The watch is simple, sturdy, legible, with one of the most comfortable OEM leather straps I've ever bought. I would be extremely happy if I had paid double what I did ...

Think it is. Gnomon exclusive, you have to go to their site. It was just released a week or 2 ago. I wish the 24 hour scale and GMT arrow were lumed.

Cheers. I clocked the Gnomon logo in the pic. Looks a lovely watch and might wear small. Might be an option for me if the Tudor BB GMT doesn't suit.
In terms of the OP, it's notorious difficult to find a true GMT in the sub $5k price range until tudor announced one. If you are happy with GMT quickset the there are a number of good looking watches, Squale GMT tropic come to mind Chrward trident. Im very taken by the Farer offerings also.

For me the worldtime function is slightly smarter Ball and FC are your best bet.

Davosa Argonautic Dualtime could be an option, but it has the same drawbacks as the Hamilton GMT. Good lume, though. But I would still recommend the Alpina. It would have been my choice as well, but I wanted something more toolish and I already have an Alpiner 4 Chronograph, so I chose the Davosa. Otherwise it would have been the Alpina. Since I also have a 7.25'' wrist, I'll include a wrist shot of my Alpiner 4, which has the same case and bezel as the GMT version.

Does it suppose to be only mechanical watch?
    It should be special!
