The worst watch-related thing you've seen today?

With today kicking off Baselworld 2019, my inbox has been chock full of email notifications from the usual watch publications that I follow, and the Watchville app has been churning all day with links to new articles, hands ons and photos from today's releases. And boy, what a day, for better... or worse.

I'm not going to choose the obvious answer here... instead I'm going to say this: the solid gold $69,900 Doxa anniversary Sub 200 T.Graph. Not because it's necessarily a bad looking watch (although I have strong opinions of all-gold watches in the first place) but because an all-gold dive chronograph would probably top the list of most pointless watches. I understand that it's a 50th anniversary, and as such, "must" be in gold, if you believe in that whole hierarchy of anniversary precious metals and gemstones nonsense. But at twice the price of the new Speedmaster Apollo XI 50th Anniversary? Yougottabekiddinme!

So just for laughs after a long day at work - what was the worst watch "thing" you saw today?

The Black Bay Steel & Gold Chronograph is aggressively not for me.

it's a tie for me; the "dress" versions of the Black Bay are as oxymoronic as that solid gold diver you noted. (Which I skipped over earlier so didn't realize. Yeah, that's pretty bad.) The other is the hideous P01. That might be the ugliest case shape I've ever seen. What, the weight of those ridiculous lugs dragged down the crown to 4? And is this gonna be wearable at all??? Saw a comment about the new Nomos Tangente Sport...at 42, with those long lugs, what kinda wrist can handle it? That's my feeling with the P01, or in my book the Black Bay POS.

Tudor whatever it is called, but should be the “Fugly”

The worst thing today, and indeed the worst design I have seen from a top brand for years.
