    Worth fixing?

i have received an old swiss emperor pocket watch with a Unitas 6498 movement in it, and it's not running, i've been quoted £65 for a basic service, is it worth spending out that much, i have every intention of removing it from it's current case and making a wristwatch case for it, but TBH i don't know what the movement is worth.

Since 'worth' is subjective, only you can make the decision.

Have you priced new 6497 and 6498 movements? Many of the older 649x movements do not have shock absorbing jewel mounts, so you should check that out.

Ofrei asks 139 USD for a 6497-1, offers on ebay are less expensive.
    Kind regards

it is an Incabloc movement, just wanted to gauge the worth of a fix from the responses, might be better to buy a new one.
