Would you do the trade: Radiomir 98 Alarm GMT for Radiomir 1940 PAM512 ?

    Dear fellow WIS,

Am afraid that the watch bug has bitten again: my preferred watch pusher has offered to do a straight trade on my Radiomir 98 Alarm GMT for a new Radiomir 1940 (PAM 512) ... pictures of both watches can be found below (both sourced from WWW, as my macros of the Rad 98 don't do the watch justice ..).

A far as looks are concerned, I definitely think that the PAM 512 is the better looking piece (cleaner, less cluttered), however the Radiomir 98 may well be the more 'interesting' piece due to its relatively uncommon complications (GMT + alarm in one package), and may become a collectable (any ideas on this ? don't want to flip something likely to become a collector's item).

Your opinion on this is much appreciated ! And Happy Easter to you all !

    Cheers,

Personally I wouldn't do it,I know the price for these watch are somewhat comparable at $6-6.5k,but the 98 has more complications and harder to find

Seeing how Panerai does things these few years,I think 512 will stick around for quite a while whereas the last 98 was out in 2006

Another thing, have you tried the 512? It felt thicker than the standard radiomir due to luminor lake case as well
